About the Opportunity
Leader Recruitment Group is thrilled to partner with a family-run organisation with a 10-year legacy in providing outstanding education and care for children, to recruit a Registered Manager for a brand-new 3-bed children's residential home in Oldham. Specialising in Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), this home operates under the trauma-informed PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy), offering a nurturing, family-oriented environment. With renovations underway and a supportive framework in place, this is a unique chance to lead a new service, build your own staff team, and make a lasting impact on young lives.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the setup and operation of the new home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and Children's Homes Regulations.
- Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care using the PACE model, promoting recovery and well-being for young people with EBD.
- Recruit, build, and mentor a dedicated staff team, shaping a cohesive and compassionate workforce.
- Oversee care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures to achieve outstanding outcomes.
- Manage budgets, resources, and daily operations, maintaining a warm, family-like environment (complete with a small garden for BBQs!).
- Collaborate with Jasmine (Responsible Individual and Director) and external agencies, including local authorities, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Drive the Ofsted registration process, leveraging the organisation's strong relationship with Ofsted.
About You
- Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- At least 3 years' experience in a senior role within a children's residential setting, ideally with EBD expertise.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, The Children Act 1989, and safeguarding practices.
- Experience in budget management and team leadership.
- Full UK Driving Licence and flexibility for on-call duties.
- Passion for trauma-informed care and building a family-oriented team.
- Desirable:
- Experience opening or managing a new children's home.
- Familiarity with the PACE model or similar therapeutic approaches.
