Job Title: Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £62,500 - £72,500 per annum (including performance-related bonuses)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a stable and well-established children's residential care provider for an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a 6-bed EBD children's home that has been operational for just over a year.
The home supports young people aged 8-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. It is currently home to two settled residents, with capacity for four more. The service received a 'Good' rating from Ofsted at its most recent inspection in February and is now seeking a strong leader to drive continuous improvement and aim for Outstanding.
This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned Registered Manager looking to lead an already well-functioning home - with future opportunities to move into a broader Operations Manager role as the organisation continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and management of the home, ensuring it meets all regulatory and safeguarding requirements
Maintain and build on the current Ofsted rating, driving the home towards 'Outstanding'
Develop and support a skilled and stable care team alongside a new Deputy Manager
Implement and oversee trauma-informed care planning and behaviour support strategies
Manage budgets, rotas, quality audits and reporting
Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities, schools, and families
Work closely with the Responsible Individual to ensure the home continues to meet strategic and operational goals
Requirements
Essential:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Proven track record as a Registered Manager in a children's residential home
Experience achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings in previous roles
Strong leadership, safeguarding, and care planning expertise
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Experience managing homes for 5+ young people
Therapeutic or trauma-informed care background
Ambition to move into senior/operational leadership roles in the future
Working Pattern & Package
Full-time, Monday to Friday, with on-call responsibilities
Salary: £62,500 base, with performance bonuses up to £72,500
Supportive team structure, including Deputy Manager and longstanding care staff
Future progression pathway to Operations Manager role
Why Apply?
Join a stable, well-rated home with a committed team already in place
Benefit from strong RI support and excellent internal development opportunities
Competitive salary and performance-related bonus scheme
Be part of a child-centred organisation focused on delivering therapeutic, high-quality care
