Children's Home Manager - EBD Service

Location: Sudbury
Salary: £48,000 - £50,000 + £5,000 Welcome Bonus + 21% Annual Bonus + On-Call Payments
Full-Time | Permanent

About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to lead a well-established children's home in Sudbury, Suffolk. This is a 4-bed home supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential childcare and experience leading successful Ofsted inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding and therapeutic support for children aged 8-18

  • Lead and inspire a team to deliver outstanding outcomes through trauma-informed care

  • Manage day-to-day operations, strategic development, and regulatory compliance

  • Mentor and supervise staff, conduct performance reviews, and promote professional development

  • Maintain oversight of budgets, expenditure, and service performance

  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, professionals, and families

  • Ensure the home meets or exceeds expectations from Ofsted and internal audits

  • Participate in the on-call rota to ensure out-of-hours support is available when needed

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in residential childcare at a senior level

  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent)

  • Achieved or working towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Children & Young People)

  • Solid understanding of The Children Act 1989, safeguarding frameworks, and children's home regulations

  • Experience in managing budgets and service development

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Flexibility to participate in on-call duties
