Children's Home Manager - EBD Service
Location: Sudbury
Salary: £48,000 - £50,000 + £5,000 Welcome Bonus + 21% Annual Bonus + On-Call Payments

About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to lead a well-established children's home in Sudbury, Suffolk. This is a 4-bed home supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential childcare and experience leading successful Ofsted inspections.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding and therapeutic support for children aged 8-18
Lead and inspire a team to deliver outstanding outcomes through trauma-informed care
Manage day-to-day operations, strategic development, and regulatory compliance
Mentor and supervise staff, conduct performance reviews, and promote professional development
Maintain oversight of budgets, expenditure, and service performance
Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, professionals, and families
Ensure the home meets or exceeds expectations from Ofsted and internal audits
Participate in the on-call rota to ensure out-of-hours support is available when needed
Essential Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience in residential childcare at a senior level
Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent)
Achieved or working towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Children & Young People)
Solid understanding of The Children Act 1989, safeguarding frameworks, and children's home regulations
Experience in managing budgets and service development
Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
Full UK driving licence
Flexibility to participate in on-call duties
