Deputy Manager - Children's Residential (Outdoor Activity & Intervention Service)
Location: Bishops Castle
Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle - essential
Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare - essential

Leader Recruitment Group are working with a specialist provider to recruit a Deputy Manager for an innovative short-term intervention service that supports children and young people through outdoor therapeutic activities.

This service offers a structured 12-week programme designed to help young people overcome challenges, rebuild confidence, and develop life skills in an outdoor environment.

The Role:

As Deputy Manager, you will:

  • Support the Service Manager to ensure a high standard of care

  • Lead a team in delivering structured and adventurous activities

  • Provide a safe, nurturing environment for children aged 8-18

  • Act as a positive role model and mentor

  • Contribute to therapeutic care plans and individual outcomes

Activities offered include mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, paddle boarding, and more. The service operates in both rural and outdoor settings, with a strong focus on building resilience and trust.

Requirements:

  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 1 year's experience in a senior role within a children's residential setting

  • Willingness to work in physically active, outdoor settings

  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to providing therapeutic care

  • Health and Social Care qualifications are not accepted for this role
