Position: Deputy Manager
Location: Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire
Salary: £33,600 - £34,800 per annum + £3,250 - £6,500 per annum for sleep-ins (approx. 4-8 sleep-ins per month)
Hours: Full-Time, 39 hours per week (08:00-22:00 shifts)
NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People and Full UK Driving Licence Required

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high-quality, therapeutic care aligned with Ofsted standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of care professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and support.
- Serve as a positive role model, building trust-based relationships with children and staff to promote growth and resilience.
- Manage rotas, budgets, and resources to ensure smooth and effective home operations.
- Create a warm, stable environment where young people feel valued, supported, and empowered.
- Ensure robust safeguarding practices and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Work flexibly, including 08:00-22:00 shifts and sleep-in duties (approx. 4-8 per month).
What We're Looking For
- Essential: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a residential children's home setting.
- Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Essential: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practices in children's residential care.
- Proven experience managing budgets and rotas.
- Dynamic, proactive leader with excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- A compassionate and resilient approach to supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Flexibility to work shifts and undertake sleep-in duties as required.
