Position: Deputy Manager
Location: Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire
Salary: £33,600 - £34,800 per annum + £3,250 - £6,500 per annum for sleep-ins (approx. 4-8 sleep-ins per month)
Hours: Full-Time, 39 hours per week (08:00-22:00 shifts)



NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People and Full UK Driving Licence Required

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high-quality, therapeutic care aligned with Ofsted standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of care professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and support.
  • Serve as a positive role model, building trust-based relationships with children and staff to promote growth and resilience.
  • Manage rotas, budgets, and resources to ensure smooth and effective home operations.
  • Create a warm, stable environment where young people feel valued, supported, and empowered.
  • Ensure robust safeguarding practices and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Work flexibly, including 08:00-22:00 shifts and sleep-in duties (approx. 4-8 per month).
What We're Looking For
  • Essential: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a residential children's home setting.
  • Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Essential: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practices in children's residential care.
  • Proven experience managing budgets and rotas.
  • Dynamic, proactive leader with excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • A compassionate and resilient approach to supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and undertake sleep-in duties as required.
