Children's Home Manager - EBD Service
Location: Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Bonuses: £5,000 welcome bonus + 21% performance-based annual bonus
Contract Type: Full-time, permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Children's Home Manager to lead a well-established EBD provision in the Wisbech area. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong background in residential childcare and a track record of leading successful Ofsted inspections.

You'll be joining a supportive and established organisation with clear career progression pathways and a strong commitment to high standards of therapeutic care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance
  • Lead a team of care professionals, delivering therapeutic, child-focused support in line with each child's care plan
  • Drive continuous service improvement and development, including strategic planning and quality audits
  • Take responsibility for the home's safeguarding procedures, health and safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage and mentor staff, including supervision, rota planning, appraisals, and training up to QCF Level 3
  • Manage the home's budget and maintain financial performance
  • Act as a role model for children and staff, promoting recovery, resilience, and positive relationships
  • Engage with external stakeholders, inspectors, and professionals to ensure best outcomes for each child

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior role within children's residential care (EBD setting experience preferred)
  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children and Young People's Workforce
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
  • In-depth knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Children's Homes Regulations, and safeguarding practices
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and lead by example
  • Strong understanding of financial and budgetary management
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in on-call rota
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
