Position: Senior Support Worker
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £15.40 - £16.00 per hour + £62.64 per sleep-in (approx. 4-8 sleep-ins per month, adding £3,000-£6,000 per annum)
Hours: Full-Time, 39 hours per week
Level 3 CYPW or Residential Childcare and Full UK Driving Licence Required

Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a caring team to provide a safe and nurturing environment, promoting the positive development of young people.
- Support the day-to-day management of the home in a professional and competent manner, assisting the Service Manager in delivering the highest quality care.
- Lead and support colleagues to deliver therapeutic care tailored to each child's needs, fostering recovery, growth, and lasting change.
- Act as a positive role model for children and colleagues, building trusting relationships to meet everyday living needs.
- Record events, observations, and progress reports, contributing to the preparation and implementation of care plans.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and organisational policies to promote the welfare of young people.
- Work flexibly, covering long day shifts, weekends, and sleep-in duties (approx. 4-8 per month).
Candidate Requirements
- Essential: Minimum of 12 months' experience in children's residential care or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models.
- Essential: Level 3 qualification in Caring for Children and Young People (CYPW) or Residential Childcare.
- Essential: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Strong communication skills and a naturally caring, flexible, and resilient approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, young people, and external professionals.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Flexibility to work long day shifts, weekends, and sleep-in duties as required.
