Job description

Location: Cannock
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager to take the lead in opening and running a brand-new 3-bed children's home in Cannock, specialising in Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

The home is set to provide a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for children and young people. Backed by a founder with extensive experience in education, leadership, and work with looked after children (LAC), the organisation is built on strong values, child-focused practice, and a commitment to making a lasting difference.

What makes this opportunity unique:

  • You will be joining the organisation at the very start of its journey, giving you the chance to shape the home, culture, and care model from day one

  • Strong values-driven leadership, led by an experienced educationalist and charity trustee who understands the complex needs of children in care

  • A genuine focus on therapeutic and relationship-based care, underpinned by structure, empathy, and high expectations

What's on offer:

  • Competitive salary starting from £50,000 - £55,000

  • Opportunity to influence and help establish a high-quality provision from the ground up

  • Supportive leadership with a genuine understanding of the challenges and rewards of residential care

  • Potential for career progression as the organisation grows

  • Will consider both experienced Registered Managers and Deputy Managers ready to step up

  • Informal initial meeting available for interested candidates prior to formal interview

What we're looking for:

  • Experience working within children's residential care, ideally with young people presenting EBD and trauma

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and lead a team

  • A thorough understanding of Ofsted regulations and what it takes to run a GOOD or OUTSTANDING home

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)

  • A passion for delivering high-quality care that changes lives

If you're motivated by the chance to help shape a new home with real purpose, and you want to be part of an organisation committed to high standards, support, and impact we want to hear from you.
